Brandt Corcran

Brandt Corcran, a Vinton native, joined Wilson-Hite Insurance in September 2026 after spending eight years in healthcare as a physical therapist assistant between Virginia Gay Hospital and Horst PT. Brandt attended the University of Iowa, where he studied Exercise Science and Nutrition prior to earning his PTA degree from Kirkwood Community College. People often ask what prompted the move from healthcare to insurance: after eight years, he felt he had hit a dead end with healthcare and saw a more reassuring path for personal and professional growth - one that still allows him to help others and give back to his community, just through a different vehicle.
Brandt recently attained his license for personal lines and is actively studying for his commercial lines exam, with plans to expand into life and health coverage in the future. Brandt and his wife, Sydney (a Shellsburg native and likely the first friendly smile you will see when you walk into the office at Tilford Elementary School while in her secretary role), reside in Vinton with most of their time dictated by their four busy children: Spencer, identical twins - Aldin and Sullivan, and Maeve. Outside the office, Brandt serves as the head coach for the Vinton-Shellsburg High School girls' wrestling team. If you are awake before sunrise, you may also find Brandt out running while training for a marathon.
